Baby blocks cake

For a work friends small baby shower...a tiny cake is just right! I love to do mini cakes...less baking time and more time for decorating! This one was especially fun because Karis let me have creative control with just a little guidance about color and them. Thanks Karis!

Ladybug Cake

This was an exciting cake to make because it was for our very own tiny little thing! Our baby turned one last week and we celebrated with a ladybug party!

Bryan did about 99% of this cake and spent a lot of time thinking about what he wanted to do. He really wanted to try doing some fondant lattice work but when we googled the internet for ideas we couldn't find any. I don't know if it hasn't been done before or we just didn't search very well but here it is ladies and gentleman....*drumroll please*....the very first fondant lattice cake ; )

We didn't get any pictures but the inside was red and black too!

Our lil lady tore into the top tier...too cute.

Blue & Green Wedding Cake

Jones Wedding

Simple and beautiful this wedding cake was straight up traditional white cake with white frosting. The colors were Black and Blue and the last minute revisions to this cake (florist issues resulted in a lack of flowers so the bride requested black ribbon instead) really made all the difference!

Karch Wedding Cake

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Karch! Married on 1/1/11, I was so happy for this couple who contains one part my good friend Tyberious. The cake flavors were lemon with a whipped raspberry filling, german chocolate with coconut pecan filling, and red velvet with cream cheese frosting filling. yum.

Winnie The Pooh Cake

My Dear Shosh had her baby shower this weekend. The theme: Winnie The Pooh of course! The cake was a delicious spice cake with cream cheese filling accompanied by spice cake & whipped cream cheese bites. Bryan is becoming somewhat of a fondant Winnie the Pooh expert if you'll remember from this cake. We finished the fondant topping off with a little steam for a nice n' shiny look! I can't wait to see Baby James in a month or so!

Tangled Cake

This year for Jolie's birthday her mom requested a Tangled cake. The tower was made of fruity pebbles (because they're gluten free!) and the landscape was chocolate gluten free cake. Yummy and tons of fun! Happy 3rd birthday Jolie!

Maroon and Gold Wedding Cake

ASU colors? No, the beautiful and creative wedding colors selection of Rachel Smithson. I met with the happy and easy going bride to come up with an idea for her wedding cake and after tossing around a few ideas she came up with design all by herself-it turned out pretty dang cute!

Fondant over white cake with whipped raspberry filling and a few styrofoam tiers for show-congrats to Rachel & Jordan.

The Yankees are the best baseball team that ever walked the face of the earth

I was pretty ecstatic to make this cake mainly for reasons stated in the blog title, but also because it was commissioned by the young wife of an air force soldier coming home from training. She told us that they'd have a little time together before he left again for a whole year! My brother-in-law is in the military and is often gone for extended periods of time and my heart goes out to all military wives-you amazing women-you are strong and capable and brave and make sacrifices I'm to weak to make. Thank You!
We surprised the hubby with this Yankee's cap cake which was chocolate with whipped strawberry filling-yum!
